Our Building
Renovation
In 2004 our congregation purchased the old Strasburg Middle School on High Street. Since then we have worked on renovating the facility, which was in a sad state of disrepair.
Phase One of the renovation was the restoration of the oldest part of the building, which contains most of the classrooms and the school library. Phase One renovations were mostly completed in 2005 and included installing restrooms on the main level and combining two classrooms into an auditorium, which is used in our worship services.
Phase Two of the renovation was completed in 2010 and was mainly the restoration of the newer part of the building, which contains the gym, cafeteria, and kitchen areas.
Almost all of the renovation work was done by volunteers.
Building Use
The gym, cafeteria, and kitchen are often available for use for gatherings and events not conflicting with SMC scheduled events.
